Our dear and deeply loved Sara passed on a year ago today. Her family thinks about her fondly every day, and we know her friends miss her too. We often say something on Sara's behalf; what she would say if she were her with us (one of her favorite targets being comments regarding her dorky Dad ;-) Sara's spirit is here among us and she speaks to us through our memories and the many small reminders she left behind. Sara left those who knew her with an appreciation of those little things in life that we often take for granted, that are central to our being. That was one of her gifts.
We love you and miss you Sara,
Sheri, Jilllian, Marc

Thinking of Sara and the whole family today. I can't believe it has been a year.
ReplyDeleteDear Marshall family,
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking about Sara a LOT for several weeks now, and she's been on my mind all day today. I continue to draw strength from her spirit and her memory. She was so remarkably special, and I do not take for granted how lucky I am to have known her. I'm so sorry for your loss and hope that fond memories of Sara will help your hearts heal. You clearly are an amazing family, and you will always have my admiration, sympathy, and love.
Hugs,
Casey
Today, I am going to be happy. I want to celebrate Sara’s life and recall only the good memories. I am so grateful for the weeks I spent with Sara during her last year. My trips to Indiana were greatly anticipated. Foot massages and a good back rub were a must! Some of our best times were spent lying on her bed laughing at family stories, our puppies, and juicy gossip. We even plotted a little revenge for a few that we thought had wronged us. I appreciated her sly humor and quick wit.
ReplyDeleteI was amazed at her fierce independence and that she always remained in control of her life and health. The doctors and nurses came to expect a challenge when they entered her room. Nurse Richard found out that you don’t mess with Sara. She had backup!
I have learned a lot in the last year. My once strong resolve has been tested and I always think of Sara. She is a constant source of strength for me. She is now my backup!
Sara created her own style and always dressed with confidence. It was sometimes classy (D&G) and sometimes questionable (people of Target); but, she will forever be young and beautiful.
Happy Birthday Little Girl. I love you and look forward to our reunion.
I don't know if y'all still check this, but I want you to know that Sara's been on my mind a lot lately. I miss her smile, and I am grateful that I can look at these photos of her and derive strength from her unbelievable strength. She has not and will not be forgotten.
ReplyDeleteSincerely,
Casey
