Tonight our beloved Sara passed to heaven. She had such an impact on our lives and provided an inspiration to all of those she touched during her journey. She was brave, valiant, adventuresome and battled against unbelievable odds to survive. She always Dreamed Big. She was determined to have an impact on the world around her. She didn’t have an impact in the way she envisioned, but maybe she had an impact on us in an even bigger way than she never imagined, and will influence how people appreciate the little things in life, friends and family in a way they did not before. I know she changed us forever.
There is an incredible hole in Sheri, Jillian and my heart that will not easily mend. Sara used to tell Sheri every night to Stay Strong Mom. We will do our best to follow her brave example, celebrate her life, and keep her memory alive. Someday we shall reunite with her spirit and fill the loss in our hearts.
Sara felt the love of her family, friends and people she met on her journey and through the many notes and cards she received. This will be the final posting I will make here on her behalf, but she would welcome your words of farewell and will read them from a better place.
We love you Sara.

Dear Marshall Family,
ReplyDeleteI am so incredibly sad tonight reading this. I was friends with Sara all through college. Her (and Nancy's) dorm room freshman year was directly across the hall and we used to keep our doors open and shout/laugh across the hall at each other. Then we lived together senior year, and while we were pretty sassy roommates who didn't always get along, we spent four months going to work with baboons together at the Southwest Foundation and had the best time doing primatology together.
Sara was an incredible person, strong, confident, and happy being out in the world traveling. I can picture her now lying in a hammock by the beach in Belize and hanging out in China. I will miss her very much and the card that she sent to me two weeks ago warms my heart. It meant so much to get that from her.
She will be very much missed and thought of often. I am so happy that there were two families who gave the gift of organs to Sara.
Please let us know when a service will be and where. Thank you for the constant updates. Being far away I felt like I was able to check in and keep up with her.
All the best and lots of love and warm thoughts,
Jessica
Sara's granny Marshall is feeling the loss
ReplyDeleteof a happy, go-lucky granddaughter who has
left a big space in our family after nearly 30
years. She will be missed by more people than
she could imagine. She is free of pain now and
that is a blessing and in time we will all heal
from the shock of losing her but we will never
forget her determination to recover.

I was Sarah's Anthropology advisor at Trinity and I was so sorry to hear about her passing. She was a fighter and truly one of a kind - she will always stand out to me of all of the thousands of students that I've ever taught. I'm so glad that she lived such a rich life and was loved so much by her family and friends. On behalf of the Trinity community, I send my best wishes to her family and friends. Jennifer Mathews
ReplyDeleteMay God bless you all. Sara and all of you have shown faith, courage, bravery, and love beyond measure. You are in m prayers.

My heart is full of sadness as I learn about the passing of my beloved college roommate. I too would be interested in learning of the service so I can pay my last respect to this amazing woman and incredible friend.
ReplyDeleteLove to the Marshall family,
Nancy
Sara was a friend and classmate in college. She was such an amazing, funny, driven woman. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
ReplyDeleteMy family and I have so many fond childhood memories of Sara and we will cherish them always! We are thinking about all of you and will never forget the courage, faith and strength the Marshall family has shown.
ReplyDeleteMuch love to you all!

I'm saddened to read the news of Sara's passing this morning. I've followed her story via this blog for more than a year. I remember reading in one of her early posts that she had no choice but to be brave. I was moved most by her bravery.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your loss. Even though I never met her in real life, I will miss her.
May perpetual light shine upon her and may she rest in peace.
I have loved growing up with Sara and the Marshall family. Yall are like family to the Hoffners. Love love love to everyone. My thoughts and prayers are continuously with you all the time. I filled out the online organ doner registration form! Love, Kelly 'Frink' Malek
ReplyDeleteDear Marshall Family,
ReplyDeleteI am so incredibly sorry for your loss. No parent should have to endure the heartbreaking pain of losing a child. This world has lost an AMAZING soul.
Sara got dealt such a raw deal, but she handled it so beautifully. I've never been more inspired by someone's bravery, strength, tenacity, optimism, and hope. You must be so immeasurably proud of her.
I hate that she lost this battle, and I truly hope and pray that she is finally able to rest in *peace* now.
You, as parents, have demonstrated remarkable strength and faith and love - Sara was so lucky to have you there by her side throughout this entire nightmare. Thank you for sharing your story with us - it means more to me than you know.
I have learned many valuable lessons from this tragedy and will be forever grateful for that. I will never forget Sara's laugh nor her beautiful smile. I admired her self-confidence, intelligence, beauty, and sense of adventure. I wish I could be more like she was.
Take care and know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Casey (friend from Trinity)
Although we never met Sara, we feel like we know her through Jillian, our daughter Katelyn's roommate and precious friend. We so admire the courage and faith Sara and the entire Marshall family has shown. Marc, your words are so true, Sara's spirit has soared and will be forever with you all!
ReplyDeletePeace be with you all,
Laurie, Ryan, Katelyn and Leah Colburn
Throughout her life, Sara demonstrated a unique and bold form of bravery. And with each brave new road, she was covered with love and devotion from her family. The Marshall family knows how to love well.
ReplyDeleteHeaven just became a little bit brighter because of Sara.
"While we are mourning the loss of our friend, others are rejoicing to meet [her] behind the veil." ~John Taylor
May God give you the courage and strength to face each new day.
With heartfelt sympathy,

My heart sank when I read your post this morning. I am so deeply saddened to hear of Sara's passing. While I didn't know Sara personally, I felt a very close connection with her. Being a MV transplant recipient, I could easily relate to what she was going through. I think all transplant friends feel that same connection. Sara expressed such strength, bravery and courage and we have all learned so much from her.
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to to you all at this trying time. May you find solace in knowing that Sara has gained her beautiful Angel wings and is now at peace. I pray God gives you the strength to take on each new day.
Sending my heartfelt sympathy,
Michelle
I shared a balcony with Sara freshman year at Trinity - we had lots of great conversations and shared our Freshman Year experiences. She was very smart and fun to talk to about music, soccer, class...I am very sad to hear of her passing but glad she is no longer in pain. My thoughts are with her family.
ReplyDeleteThough we did not know Sara personally, we do know Sheri and Jillian. Sheri was both my son’s and daughter’s teacher in elementary school. I always loved Sheri for her comforting words and love for the children in her classroom. This was always a fine example for me to follow. Her example was taught to many and was exhibited in her daily life by the love of her own family. Dealing with ongoing health issues is never easy. The difference for many is how you handle each day and the grace and manner which you do it. Marc, Sheri and Jillian, you all have been a gift to Sara. She will be forever in peace, resting assured that you all gave her such wonderful encouragement, love and words of support. The days ahead will be difficult without Sara but know you have many friends in Austin who love you.
ReplyDeleteAll our love,
Betsy, Mike, Ryan and Megan Horton
I am incredibly sorry for your loss. Like I've prefaced on past postings, Sara and I weren't close friends as we got older, but she was my first female friend in this life and I will never forget her. I can't begin to imagine the toll the past several years have had on Sara and her family, but I can tell you that I truly believe Sara is in a better place, with no more pain. I'm not the praying type, but I more than believe there is a bigger story than what we are experiencing right now. She will be missed as she journeys on.

Marc,Sheri, Jillian, Words can't say the sorrow I feel for each of you. Sara was a remarkable young lady and as so many have said she fought the fight well. I'm so thankful for the times ya'll had recently to laugh at old memories. She will forever be there with each of you. I know that much was learned thr all of Sara's trials, but the one that stands out for me is the courage and the attitude she maintained and passed on to so many.
ReplyDeleteShe has touched so many lives and will always be in the hearts of cherished family and friends.
Please let me know how I can help during this time.
My prayers continue to be with each of you.
Much Love

Marc, Sheri, Jillian and Ari -
ReplyDeleteMere words cannot begin to convey the heartfelt sympathy being expressed. I came to know Sara's plight late in the game but want you to know Sara touched my soul through her blog.
Sara was an amazing young woman and she will be forever remembered not as the girl who would receive two multiple organ transplants but the young woman who forever changed the lives of those who knew her story of courage and faith and determination. Sara will be missed not just by her family and friends, but by perfect strangers - a testament to the imprint Sara left on our hearts.
With Love, Hugs, & Blessings,
Elizabeth Duhan
We'll always know that nothing was left unsaid and every possible treatment or surgery was attempted. I am so proud of Sara, Marc, Jillian, and Sheri. You have all shown courage, faith, love, and persistence beyond what most of us can only imagine. We wait in Austin with loving arms to honor, grieve, nurture, remember, and share our special memories of Sara.
ReplyDeleteI love that she was smart. I love that she was a gifted athlete. I love her dry sense of humor.I love that she was fearless. I love that she adored her little sister, Jillian. I love that she cherished her animals. I love that she had two parents that respected her unique independence, followed her lead and were there for every single step of her precious life. She was a gift... not ours to keep. I am lucky to have known her.

Marshall Family,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your loss. I had been praying for Sara during this time and will pray for God to comfort you.
She was a fighter until the end.
Love,

Sara was my student in First-Year Chinese and my advisee for her Chinese major. Although she had a rocky start she eventually became one of the best students in the program. I know that Sara cherished her time in China and considered it life-changing. I regret that we had not been in contact for several years. I do remember her very clearly from my hundreds of students--her personality was truly unique and she will not be forgotten. I will personally contact her fellow Chinese classmates to tell them the tragic news.

Dear Marc, Sheri, and Jillian,
ReplyDeleteWe read the news last night close to 1 am, but could not post because of shock and sadness. We loved Sara from the bottom of our hearts, and it is such an emptiness to think of this world without her physical presence, always hoping that one day we would be able to connect again. We celebrate who she was - beautiful, intelligent, strong, full of courage, and someone who fought for life with every ounce of her being!
We are so thankful for the times we did spend with Sara, and will never be able to visit places in northern Wisconsin or Minnesota without remembering peaceful, happy, and funny times. She was a blessing in our lives, and she has changed us forever!
Our prayers will remain with you always, that God will give you unearthly comfort and the ability to survive and one day, heal from this unimaginable loss. She will forever live in our hearts, and her spirit will soar where her body could not.
Much love,
Linda and Bob Haugen
Marc, Sheri, and Jillian,
ReplyDeleteI'm so so sorry to hear about Sara. She blessed all of us with her spirit and determination. What a warrior!
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
God Bless your family,
Deb & Kelby
Although Sara and I did not stay in touch much after high school, I have been following her journey on this blog and was devastated when I read the news. I have fond memories of her throughout our time at Westwood... she and I would chat every day before (and during!) Spanish class, and I remember how smart and funny she was.
ReplyDeleteWhile it's comforting to know that she's no longer feeling any pain, the world is a little less bright without Sara Marshall in it. My deepest condolences to her family and friends.
Best,
Kristen Scully
Dear Sheri,Marc,Jillian & Shiner's sister Ari,
ReplyDeleteDon & I played with Sara's dog yesterday...
as her wet nose kissed us we had you in our thoughts. Although it's difficult to see beyond
today's sorrow ~ may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.
We pray the Love of God enfolds you during this
difficult time.
From your extended family . . .

Sara and I spent some fun times at Trinity together. She was always such a bright spirit and fun to be around.
ReplyDeleteShe will truly be missed and will never be forgotten. No one can forget Sara Marshall

My thoughts and prayers are with your family today. I hadn't seen Sarah in years but kept updated on her progress through your tireless efforts to keep us informed. For that effort, I can not thank you enough. Sara was truly an inspiration and I hope one day to be even a small fraction of as brave as she was in the face of adversity I can't even dare to imagine. I hope Sara is now enjoying some much deserved rest and peace and that she is happily watching over all of you during this difficult time. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for sharing her story with us and through this, you have touched more lives than you can imagine.
ReplyDeleteMarc, Sheri, Jillian,
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time since I spoke with you or Sara. I can't imagine what a long road this has been but it doesn't surprise me to hear that she made you guys laugh and smile along the way. Quite the character that girl.
I'll never forget our adventures in backpacking after high school...only took us a year to convince you guys to let us go. She wasn't one to use a map so we walked for hours trying to find the first hostel, laughing at how ridiculously heavy our packs were!
Sara, I'm sorry I didn't keep more in touch with you. I always enjoyed being around you, whether it was on the soccer field, bungee jumping at six flags or hanging out on some bikes in Holland. You will be missed.
Kristen (perry)
Marshall Family,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about Sara's passing although it is comforting to know she is in a pain free state now. She was a beautiful, smart and funny young woman and I feel blessed to have known her in high school. Although I didn't keep in touch with her much past high school I kept up with her story through this blog and I always admired how much perseverance and hope she had. I pray the Lord gives you comfort during this time.
Sara, you are greatly missed by all.
Kate McCoy
My daughter just sent me the link to Sara's blog. Lauren knew Sara from Westwood HS and I knew Sheri as my son Anthony's third grade teacher many years ago. I remember Sheri telling me all about the many things that Sara's new puppy had destroyed or eaten....was it the back door frame that had to be replaced? My heart is breaking for your family and my prayer for all of you is that your memories of Sara will bring smiles and loving thoughts as time goes on. My family's prayers go with you.
ReplyDeleteSara, I never would have survived middle school without you! You and the other Warrior soccer players were my first friends in Texas and I have so many fond memories. You were certainly the best sweeper in the world. Your bravery and strength throughout the last few years has been unmatched and I am so grateful to you for sharing your journey with the world. I hope you are at peace now and I take comfort in knowing there are many other amazing souls there to welcome you into the next life - I'm sure my Dad, for one, welcomed you with a giant bear hug.
ReplyDeleteMarshall family - you are in my thoughts and prayers. Sara was the best.
With deepest sympathy,
Sarah Christofferson
Marshall Family,
ReplyDeleteThere are no words that can be spoken or shared that will stop the pain of your loss. You could hear countless stories of how amazing Sara was during her time on this earth, but you already know that to be true. Despite this, know that many, many families, friends, men, women, sons, daughters, and children are lifting each and every one of you up in prayer. We are asking for a peace that passes all understanding during what seems to be a hopeless and painful time. I specifically am asking that you feel the continued presence of Sara when the wind blows against your face, when the sun beams warm your skin, when the sound of laughter breaks the silence. At your lowest moment may you feel her embrace reach down from heaven and shower you with love and strength. After all, not many who have walked this earth know a such two things greater than Sara did.
Often you hear the saying, "It is not the beginning or ending date on your tombstone that matters, it's the dash in the middle that leaves a legacy. I am sure many would agree with me that Sara's dash was a legacy that will forever spark change, determination, gentleness, humor, adventure, and joy. As cliche as it sounds, the statement stands true... Sara will be forever missed but never forgotten. No matter how we all knew Sara, if we kept in close touch or became distant after graduations, her spirit left an eternal track in all of our hearts. For that track, we all remain forever changed.
Dance in freedom Sara! Rejoice in the new body Christ has given you. Continue to blaze a trail in Heaven as you did on earth!
With deepest sympathy-
Abbye Hazeldean
We met at Trinity almost ten years ago and had many a good time in San Antonio. I'll remember always her particular sense of humor, many a fun late night and riding around with Jeremy and Jon in that old beamer of hers.
ReplyDeleteI didn't finish my studies there and left to travel in Central America for a couple years. Sara contacted me and invited me to join a social network called facebook. I'm glad she did. It put me back in contact with a special person and with many others after I had moved overseas.
I've been following this blog for sometime now and was at first sad to hear Sara afflicted with such troubles. But her effort to share in her struggles only reminded me how generous and resilient she was. I know she has not been able to continue the writing in recent weeks and thank her family for continuing to chronicle her fight. My thoughts are with you, Marshall family as well as my gratitude for giving this world such a special person.
Rest in peace Sara.
Best regards and deepest sympathies,
Will Tylander
Dear Marshall Family,
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear of your loss of sweet Sara! I will be praying for this tough time of grieving, for you to feel the Lord's comfort, and for the story of Sara's life that will continue to be told.
Love and Prayers,
Julie (Kreiger) Wenning- WHS '99
Dear Sweet Jillian,
ReplyDeleteWords cannot describe how deeply sorry I am for your loss. I know you loved your sister dearly and that her fight for health was always in the forefront of your mind. In the years since I have known you, you have grown from a shy teenager to a woman preparing to graduate college and explore the world. From what I have heard and read about Sara, she encouraged your confident spirit and fostered your inquisitive nature about life. Clearly, Sara was a warrior… and I believe you are one too. I hope you find strength in the millions of memories Sara left with you. I hope you find comfort in our millions of prayers for you.
Love,
Kristen Cox
It seems like yesterday - I remember watching Sara play "the beautiful game" of soccer. We were in Georgetown and the Warriors were in a hotly contested playoff game. Sara was a defender - she was so aggressive, so focused and so determined to not to let anyone score on "her watch." Not only did Sara play this way on the field, but this also represented how she lived her life. She had a kind and gentle soul. She made an impression on everyone she met. We love the Marshall family! We miss ya'll in Austin and look forward to your return. Even though our hearts hurt, we feel fortunate and blessed to have known Sara.
ReplyDeleteWe love you, Buck, Terri, Chelsea, Hayley and Jake Baccus
I have been keeping up with Sara's story for over a year and always admired her courage and determination in the fight. I am deeply saddened by the loss of such an amazing person but know she looking down on us pain free with a happy and full belly. She will be missed but her legacy and determination in life will forever live in all of us. I am thankful for all the good times we had and for her being the best sweeper a keeper could ask for!!
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts and prayers are with the Marshall family.

Thoughts of happier times on Delmonico run through my mind. I am so sorry for you loss of a brave and tough battle fought by Sara and your family. I am glad to know you were with her every step of the way and found comfort in each others presence. Until you meet again... Today my prayers are with you and I will rejoice in the fond memories of a house full of giggling little girls.

Sara was my best friend and there are no words to describe how much I will miss her. She was such an amazing person and I am greatful for the time that we had together. She taught me to be strong, independent and brave no matter what and I will be forever in her debt. Not a day goes by that I don't think of Sara and the wonderful memories that still make me laugh, cry and smile. She changed my life for the better and will live forever in my heart.
ReplyDeleteMarc, Sheri and Jillian - Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your family all these years. I love you all very much and will always be here for you.
Marc and Sheri,
ReplyDeleteYou were blessed with two beautiful, strong and loving daughters. I visited with Jillian at the "DUPE" yesterday. She is surrounded by such love there! Her room is filled with flowers, cards and posters. She spoke beautifully of the staff at the hospital and was joyous in her plans "to take Sara" with them next week! All the girls went yesterday and had their nails done with "Sara's polish". I know with all my heart that Sara is smiling!
All my love,
Laurie Colburn (Katelyn's mom)
Hoping this post makes it on site bc my last one didn't. Not a moment has gone by since Sunday night when Elizabeth called to tell us we lost Sara that I have not thought about Sheri, Marc and Jillian. Praying for you all and sending love through cyberspace. Everything else has been said and no additional words can tell you how very sorry we are that Sara is no longer here.
ReplyDeleteBut we trust and believe that her purpose in life brought hundreds together across the world in ferverent prayer on her behalf, showed us a living example of courage and bravery, and increased own way of living not to leave anything undone or unsaid. For this I am grateful to have known Sara.
We send love to the Marshall famiy.
Love and blessings-

We enjoyed getting to know Sara via her visits to our Northwood's of Wisconsin lake home. She was such an energetic, intelligent, and beautiful young woman who was a fun guest. We were very sad to hear of her passing and can only imagine how heavy your hearts are. Our heartfelt sympathy for your family. May God send peace and comfort to your hearts. We celebrate her life, knowing she is now free from pain and enjoying being home with Jesus.
ReplyDeleteSincerely, Jim and Marilyn Ekstrand
Thank you for sharing this blog. Sara is an inspirational person and it has been incredible to read about her strength and spirit.
ReplyDeleteOne of my fondest memories is running around Delmonico Drive on a snow day with her, Jillian, and my sister, Michelle. We are thinking of your family and send our deepest sympathies.
-Maria Rascati
Sheri-My family, especially my son Andrew who was one of your students, was so sorry to hear about Sara. Even since we ran into you at the hospital 3 years ago, you and Sara have been in my thoughts and prayers every day. Sara certainly endured so much medically, but she's in a better place now and won't have to suffer the pain anymore. She certainly had a tremendous will to live and fought very hard. Her endurance, perseverance and story is remarkable and seems so much like Andrew's. Funny, I read the obituary as I was sitting in Andrew's hospital room at Texas Nuero Rehab. I can truly understand what your family is going through right now and what you have endured ever since Sara became so ill. A month ago Andrew had to get a trach and a feeding tube. He's now ventilator dependent. I have thought long and hard about what it would be like to have your child die. I came to the conclusion that the child would always be in your heart. And, even if you couldn't see him or her every day, he or she would always be with you. And, since it's so hard to see your child endure so much pain, you will know that your child will never have to feel any more pain or suffering. You will great through this. There are a lot of people thinking about and praying for you. You have always been special to our family because you gave Andrew an opportunity to soar in your classroom and become the person he is today. Rosemary, Roger & Andrew Roles
ReplyDeleteSara would have turned 30 on Monday. Even though she didn't quite make it, I'm not sad for her, because I know she lived a great lifetime in her 29.9 years.
ReplyDeleteSara and I met as teenagers, suddenly turned loose upon the world. That night, we talked through the sunrise, and as I walked the 100 feet from Winn back to Witt, I knew I had found someone special, even if I didn’t yet know quite how special. Over the following year and a half, we tried to walk our own paths, but we just couldn’t seem to stay away from each other. Finally, at the end of sophomore year, we became inseparable, sometimes to the dismay of every other person in our lives ;-)
Over the next five and a half years, we grew together, lived our dreams together, and figured out the meaning of 爱情. We glided across shimmering lakes, suffered through the sluggishness of mono, felt the kiss of snowflakes and the warmth of die Kneipe through Berlin’s seemingly endless winter nights, lounged at Melrose Place, perfumed the Rosemont apartments with our the aromas of favorite culinary creations, and pedaled with the masses through one Chinese city, then another, living large as alien celebrities. We devoted ourselves to learning a language some consider impossible, endured water and power shortages, ate 15-cent pineapples till we couldn’t stand another, then came home and tried to become normal again.
As with all dreams, eventually one must wake up. The same spirit of fierce determination that had bound us together for seven years began to carry us in different directions. One mild Bay Area morning, we said goodbye, and it was both the saddest moment of my life and the most necessary.
Marc, Sheri, and Jillian, thank you so much for opening your family to me. I can only begin to imagine how the last several years have been for you.
As long as we are alive, Sara will always be with us. She lives on inside me, inside all of us on whom she made her mark. Her star still burns bright.
Love,
Erik
Dear Marc, Sheri, and Jillian,
ReplyDeleteThe last time I saw Sara we were boating at the lake watching Sara wakeboard. I have always been so impressed with Sara! From her aggressive soccer playing and athletic ability, to her conquering the Chinese language, and to her extensive traveling and hiking in new places; she was the girl I always wished I could be but was too afraid to venture outside my comfort zone. She was so full of life - what an inspiration! And I'll never forget, Sheri, when you and Marc told me the doctors had finally diagnosed Sara's condition; mostly from Sara's own input and self-diagnosis. The specialist just KNEW Sara was a med student because she knew more about gastroenterology than most of his colleagues. So impressed! I remember thinking Sara had experienced life more in her quarter century of living than I had in my almost half century. She left no stone unturned! You all have been in our prayers throughout these past years. I hope the holes in your hearts can be filled with all the amazing stories and memories of Sara. I am not surprised at all that Sara would be the one to bravely blaze the trail for us, teaching us about death, and giving us hope and something to look forward to when our time here on earth is done.
We love you Sara, Marc, Sheri, and Jillian. God bless you.
We are sad for you, but happy for Sara.
Sincerely,
The Flemings - Jim, Cindy, Natalie, and Brian
Wow, Sara, I learned something new from you today! In my 25 years in Austin I had never been to the Hula Hut . . . now it's my new FAVORITE place.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Cindy Fleming
Thinking of the Marshall family today, on what would have been Sara's 30th birthday. I hope the service went well on Saturday - I'm terribly sad that I couldn't make it to Austin, but please know that I've been thinking of Sara every single day. She will never be forgotten.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs,
Casey
Sheri, Marc, and Jillian,
ReplyDeleteMaria sent the post website to me and I read it from beginning to end - what a journey. I laughed some, but mostly I cried. She was very brave and endured much. I hope you will all remember the good times. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Karen Rascati
My love to you all. I have thought a lot about you all after I first read Sara's story. Sheri, your Sara stories of her have stayed with me for many years since the time we worked together, and her final story brings me back again to her blog, to reread about her amazing life. Though she is gone, she made such an impact on so many- even those of us who knew her through the eyes of her family. Our family send love and prayers of healing to you all.
ReplyDeleteWith love,
Jill, Walter and Owen Kelly
Dear Sheri, Marc, and Jillian,
ReplyDeleteOur thoughts and prayers were with you all day Saturday as you celebrated Sara's life. And today, we remember her birthday, and again are lifting you up in our prayers. She was so loved!
Much love,
Linda and Bob Haugen
Dear Marshall Family,
ReplyDeleteI feel a little bad having to post this publicly, but it's important that you know how thankful I am for the PRECIOUS card, photo, and program from Sara's service that you sent to me. I literally JUST returned from a weekend trip out of town and walked in the front door to find your amazingly thoughtful card. Wow. I don't know how you found the time nor the energy to do that, but I am so grateful that you did! I will cherish that BEAUTIFUL photo of Sara forever. I appreciate the memorial program and can't tell you how much your kind words in the card mean to me. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I was thinking about Sara a lot on my drive to and from Dallas this weekend, with all the bluebonnets out in full bloom...
You are a truly amazing family.
With sincere love and gratitude,
Casey Radle
Dear Marshall Family,
ReplyDeleteI'm writing to express my thanks...I'm thankful that I was lucky enough to know Sara. I'm thankful you shared her story with us. I'm thankful to the families who selflessly donated their loved ones' organs to Sara, and I'm very thankful to the medical teams who helped keep her with us for as long as her body could hold on.
I think of her often; I really do. I'm sure this holiday season will be strange, sad, and bittersweet without her, and I pray you can find some comfort in fond memories of holidays past.
With thanks,
Casey
