Did You Hear Her Screams In Texas
Yeah! So far so good. Yes, even screams can be an indicator of progress. One of two drainage tubes, which Sara says felt like it was six feet long, was pulled from her abdominal area. Never trust the words....this will only hurt a little. Along with that her central line was replaced yesterday due to sepsis...let's see that's around 27 lines now! More progress is her TPN nutrition is reduced daily and her tube feedings increased which will reduce use of her central line. (Which is one of the giant keys to not turning septic again.) Twice weekly Sara's bowel is visualized through a scope. Yesterday's scope was all good news. Dr. V commented that he has only had one other patient whose bowel has shown progress with cohabitation so quickly. Her new bowel continues to grow villi which are important workers in the digestive system. Right now the only recurring problem is hematomas (collection of coagulated blood)in her abdominal area. Hopefully these will not become a huge issue. As always thank you thank you thank you for your positive energy! We can feel it as we watch the blizzard outside our window...sheri
