Waiting for a Cupcake from Food Service
Yes, that's right....it's not the red velvet she was hoping for, but vanilla will have to do! Sara continues to eat very small amounts. A few bites are HUGE progress. She's also drinking (that would be juice) more than she ever has. She has to take more pills than you can possibly imagine. The pill cup three times a day looks like small meals. What is miraculous is that she can swallow them and they stay down. So far her surgical incision continues to hold, and the intestional villi shown on the scope yesterday were incredibly compact and healthy. TPN was stopped yesterday and she's now working toward maintaining nutrition with tube feeds through her j-tube and eating small bites of food. Walking is slow and bent over, much to the dismay of her PT. Of course Sara would like to loan her the incision and tell her to stand up straight! Enough of the medical stuff...Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Have an extra big red velvet cupcake to celebrate Sara's progress....Sheri
