Redux - update
Sara is out of surgery. The clean-up operation addressed the immediate issue, but the doctors are concerned that Sara's tissues are showing the effects of prolonged malnutrition, a side effect of relying solely on intravenous feeding (TPN) for the last 18 months. As a result, her tissues are hard to suture, easily damaged and slow to heal. This problem can only be resolved with months of eating, supplemented with intestinal tube feeds. This additional surgery has set Sara back a bit, so now we have to go through the post surgical pain and nausea, getting out of bed routine again. Quickly getting well enough to start eating is now priority 1, so that we can get out of the cycle ...m2

Sara,
ReplyDeleteSomeday this will all be a dream to you. You will not remember all the day to day pain issues but you will be healed and living a different life. God has special plans for you. You are an incredibly strong woman. My prayers are with you everyday. Love, Betsy
God indeed has special plans for you Sara. Jeremiah 29:11-13
ReplyDeleteYou are a miracle happening each day and we give God all the praise and the glory. You continue to be in our prayers.

the journey through transplantland is never a straight road; there are lots of detours...but still so very worth the efforts you make to adjust. Those of us who have been there understand and empathize and hope your journey only gets better. Stay focused on the goal! God bless you Sara and family!

ReplyDeleteSara-you and your family are covered in prayer through many prayer groups-one of them is called the circle of 12. I am the leader of one of the 250 groups of 12 that pray for you-that's 30000 of us....the groups are increasing as we speak-
We pray for total and swift healing for you. We have prayed for the doctors and nurses in all the hospitals you have been, and we continue to do so as you recover. We pray for your parents for wisdom and endurance.
Keep the faith!
":He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart."
Psalm 91:4
Sara, Sheri, Marc-
ReplyDeleteSometimes I want to drop a note, but don't know exactly what to say. You continue to be covered in prayer through our churches, friends, and our prayer circles. Sometimes it is tough to watch your child (regardless of the age) go through a journey that is so difficult, painful, and uncertain. Sheri and Marc, you have stayed on the course. Your courage, and perhaps your human-ness is a testimony to all of us who are parents. Sara, continue to fight the fight and continue to be hopeful-He has brought you a long way, and will continue to carry you until you are healed.
In prayer-
Eriko, Houston
