BAM!

The small surgery, mentioned in my last post, to explore options on another j/g tube turned into a BIG one. The incision is as her previous ones...longer than you would ever ever want. She now has a separate tube for her stomach and another for her small bowel hopefully solving the previous migrating problems. He also made some other minor rearrangements, but said the bowel looks magnificent. Right now Sara could care less about how her bowel looks she is in so much pain and running a slight fever. Her IV pole went from one bag to five with all the meds and other torture equipment. If you talk to the "Man", Sara's needing some comfort today...Sheri

  1. Sara, try to imagine sunset at the point at Waikoloa, standing in the surf at Hapuna, Hula Hut on the pier, Whistler Peak on a cold clear day, Ari snuggled in you lap, crossing the finish line at the Austin Marathon, old town in DaLi. and the many other special places in your life. There will be a day when it all comes back into focus, and your family and friends will experience them with you again. Keep the faith a little longer ...Dad

  2. Sara, like you, after my transplant I kept getting infection after infection and more complications. It seemed as if I would take one step forward and then three steps back. I thought I was never going to get better, but trust me it does! It will get better and the bad days will get fewer and further between. This is a huge stress to the body and it just takes time to recover. Just remember to stay positive and have hope and faith. The good days will come!

  4. Sara,

I'm with your Dad on this one. Just keep focusing on all the good things that you have done and the amazing places that you have been. Things will get better soon and when they do, we have a travel date :) Love you!

  5. Oh Sara,
I think about you every day and hope the good minutes are outweighing the awful minutes. You are a strong young woman with the heart of a warrior in the noblest sense. Keep trying and put one foot in front of the other, you WILL get there.
Much love, and always in my prayers,
