out of surgery
Sara got out of surgery after 3 hours at ~3:30 CDT. The doctors did a small bowel resection (removed a portion of bad bowel), fixed a batch of adhesions (likely a major source of her continuing pain), gave her a new ostomy (the old one was connected to the bad section of bowel), and reconnected it back up. Sara will be in the ICU for a day or two. The good news is that the remainder of her bowel looks viable and there was NOT a decision to remove the entire thing and re-list Sara for another transplant...m2
