up and down
Sara stabilized after the Cytogam scare and was released back to the apartment for a few days, but has now been readmitted after a test on Thursday revealed a renewed bout with organ rejection. Portions of her small bowel again look like the Mojave, and she feels intensely miserable all over. Sara still appears to have both a viral infection and rejection simultaneously in her bowel, and each requires an incompatible drug treatment. The doctors have ordered an imaging study tonight, and another diagnostic imaging procedure Monday morning. After these tests, the decision will be made to perform a resection (removal) of part of her transplanted bowel or change the medication and give it a few more days. The doctors talked to us this afternoon about the possibility of another transplant as one outcome. I will update her status on Monday or Tuesday after a decision is made. We remain eternally grateful for your support, the encouragement really makes a difference to Sara and our family…m2
